CUTTING BACK ON COOKING FOR THANKSGIVING WAS A GREAT IDEA THAT I SHOULD HAVE HAD BEFORE SPENDING OVER $100 IN AN OVERCROWDED AND CHAOTIC SUPERMARKET BUYING SPECIAL INGREDIENTS. FOR EXAMPLE: $7 SMOKED PAPRIKA 😳🤬😤
AS AN INVOLUNTARY RECLUSE, I WANTED A SIMPLE QUIET DINNER IN THE END (RATHER THAN A THANKSGIVING EXORBITANT FEAST), BUT COOKING INSTRUCTIONS GOT COMPLICATED EVEN WITH THAT CHANGE OF GOAL IN MIND. I STILL HAVE MAC & CHEESE TO MAKE ON ANOTHER OCCASION. I ALSO FORGOT TO USE THE MUSHROOMS AND HALF A CABBAGE TO COOK BEFORE THEY SPOIL.
THE EPICUREAN FAILURE DIDN’T COME TO A HEAD UNTIL I CHECKED MY FOWL AFTER BAKING IT IN THE OVEN. IT WAS UNDERCOOKED. TIMING AND TEMPERATURE IS EVERYTHING WHEN COOKING IN A SHARED KITCHEN ON THE HOLIDAYS.
